I am thrilled to announce that a second printing of our Gender Expansive Quilt Blocks poster collaboration with
is now available! The first printing sold out before I could even let all of you lovely Substack subscribers know about them, so I hope you are able to nab one if you missed out last time. You can find the posters here. The posters are risograph printed and feature a selection of traditional quilt blocks that will appear in the Euphoria Quilt. With this, we submit these patterns to the canon as gender expansive quilt blocks. The poster also features text about the project for the sake of futurity. They were designed and printed by Grace in Milwaukee, WI.
All proceeds go toward the Euphoria Quilt quilting bee fund — to take the quilt around the country and hand quilt it in community.
While I am biased, I think they are very special, and I love seeing mine hanging on my studio wall every day. I hope you all love them as much as I do.
Now, for a short update of where we are at with the Euphoria Quilt: All blocks are being photographed this week so that they can eventually be presented on our online archive in all of their individual glory. This is the last step before I officially start assembling the quilt! My hope is that I will be able to hold a community basting day here in Albuquerque in just a few months once the quilt top is finished. The quilt is going to be very large, so I will need the help of lots of people in clean socks armed with safety pins galore to help me get it basted. More on that soon.
Also, I’m excited to say that the project has been awarded a grant from the city of Albuquerque. This grant will allow me to commit more time to the project and give me much-needed logistical support for things like an eventual public presentation of the quilt. It is very exciting!
Thank you always for following along.
With love,
Eliot
Congrats on the grant and all your hard work Eliot!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
