Big news! Quilt assembly has officially begun. The quilt is set to be 11’x12’, so please send your best prayers and luck my way as I take on what is…quite the undertaking. For now, I’m still feeling hopeful I can pull it off (if not, we will end up with two quilts).
Assembling so far has looked like matching blocks together intuitively, both when it comes to pairing 6” blocks to make new 12” blocks, and choosing what 12” blocks will go together. Overall, it’s been such a joy to get into this part of the process. I have had most of the blocks in storage for months now, and it feels like I’m reactivating them and everything they hold by sewing them together.
Back in December, I was interviewed on the Outsources podcast on KGNU, the public radio station in Denver. If you would like to hear me talk more about the quilt and my inspirations and influences behind it, the episode is under 30 minutes and I would love for you to give it a listen here.
Finally, I need to gather a few more blocks to round out the quilt! If you would like to make a block but missed the original deadline, please reach out to euphoriaquilt@gmail.com.
That’s all for now! Thank you always for following along.
Love,
Eliot
